Its achievement becomes a stamp that can be used in the final product, making it easier for the consumer to identify those products that come from vessels certified by AENOR under “UNE 195006: 2016 – Tuna from Responsible Fishing. Freezer purse seiners“.

To guarantee the origin of the APR Tuna, AENOR carries out exhaustive audits in the canning industries and in those intermediate tuna transformer links, focusing on the traceability of the tuna vessel: starting from tinned tuna or from food that contains tuna as an ingredient, the AENOR APR Trademark allows to track its traceability back to the certified tuna vessel.

The sustainable use and conservation of natural and human resources.
To value the good work of the Spanish tuna fleet and to demonstrate that the tuna that has been caught comes from certified vessels in accordance with the requirements included in the UNE 195006 Standard, AENOR has developed a Chain of Custody (Traceability) certification scheme.
The Chain of Custody Regulations describe the requirements that companies in the supply chain of tinned tuna or foods containing tuna as an ingredient must meet. These companies aspire to put products on the market identified with the AENOR stamp.
